LAUTECH MEDICAL, NURSING STUDENTS TO PAY N300,000 AS SCHOOL INCREASES TUITION BY OVER 300 PERCENT (DETAILS)
The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has increased its tuition by over 300 percent, DAILY POST reports.
The new fees, according to a circular dated Wednesday 18th June, 2018 and obtained by DAILY POST on Friday, affected only first year and graduating students of the institution jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states.
In the circular, Medical, Nursing and Biomedical students are to pay N300,000, while their counterparts in Engineering and Technology were asked to pay N250,000.
Those in the faculties of social sciences, agric and applied sciences will now pay N200,000.
The present 100 level students, it was gathered, paid N120,000 (indigenes) while non indigenes paid N150,000.
However, all efforts made by DAILY POST to get reactions from the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Lekan Fadeyi to speak on the rationale behind the new fees proved abortive, as calls put across to his phone were not answered.
